274th day in the NICU

At 8:55PM central time, Drayke Alan Crom passed from this world. He was two days shy of his nine month birthday.

There is going to be a memorial service at Vanderbilt Childrens Hospital in the chapel on Saturday.

I will be posting more info after dad & I get some rest.

Lorri,
I cannot even begin to express my sorrow of your loss of Drayke...I am passing on my most sincere condolences to you and your family...

Thank you so much for sharing your experience in Drayke's short but special life with us via your journal. You all have constantly been in my thoughts and prayers these past months.

I'm so sorry. He was so beautiful. I'm sure he knew how loved he was, every second of his precious life.

In my short time of "knowing" him since discovering this blog, I fell in love with him.

My thoughts are with you.

I was just checking in on Drayke and my heart hit the floor when I saw the picture. He was a little fighter all his life and I thought he could pull through like he did all those times before. I'm glad I got to know him the short time he was here and I'm very sorry for your loss.

Lorri & Robert, I knew that the news wouldn't be good this morning, but when I saw that picture, the tears started big time -- just seeing how much Drayke was loved by you both, and being able to see him at peace with no tubes, no IVs -- thank you for that final image.

And thank you for documenting your journey, as much of a roller coaster ride as it has been for you all. Our thoughts are with you even more today, as they have been throughout these 9 months and before the little one came in to the world so briefly. Hugs to you both.

Love, Sue & Mark

We're so very sorry to hear about Drayke, but at least now he can truly rest peacefully.

You've shared with so many people about his life and his struggle. Thank you! Drayke will continue to live in all our hearts and minds forever.

If we could be with you right now, you know we would. Our thoughts and prayers are with you now and always.

I was just directed to your site yesterday but wanted to tell you how very sorry I am. After reading all of your entries... I know that he was such a fighter! God bless him.. and the two of you.

I'm so glad you got to spend some time with him off the machines. This last picture is beautiful. Now he's free to be the little angel we always knew he was.

We wish that we could be there to help you through this. We may not be there physically, but you know we're available any time; we're just a phone call away.

All our love,
Holli, Bob & Bobby

There are no words, in any language, that could fully express the sorrow that you are facing, but know that there is a world of people, women, men, and children, that are praying for you and praying for Drayke.

I know you are in a world of pain, but take solace in the fact that his pain is over, love.

My thoughts and prayers are with you,

Drayke is resting safely in the arms of the Goddess now. Take some comfort in that. I am lighting a candle to guide Drayke.
My thoughts and prayers are with you as you learn to live without your angel. There are not enough words in this world to convey how truly sorry I am. Your warrior foght a good fight. May he rest in Valhalla, tha hall of Warriors, fallen in battle.

I am so sorry...may you and your family find peace. These words seems so shallow when taking into account what you all have just been through, but they come straight from the heart.

Just wanted to let you all know that you are in my prayers. I know there are no words, but please know that Drayke touched many lives... and changed them all for the better.

Heavenly Goddess, who fills all realms of sound, light, and vibration.

Thank you for the gift of pure spirit that is Drayke Alan Crom.

We falter in our sadness and confusion over the loss of such a young being, but we are steadfast in our faith that your will is perfect and true.

Please help our eyes to see only the love you have displayed through these nine months
Which to you is only an instant in the primordial vastness that is your creation.

We are truly only love.

We make no other choice now but to align our will and hearts with yours.

Shine your light into our hearts now and forever
In the name of the one you gave, and the one you so lovingly took home with you.

Drayke Alan Crom.

Amen.

To Drayke's mommy and daddy,
As I have prayed for yall and half tempted to come last night I Want you to know that there are no words that can comfort right now but know that you are in our prayers. We are parents of a Angel as well. He would have been 10 months on Feb 10.. May God comfort you during this time. And know that we are praying for you.

I've been following Drayke's story over these months. I was so sorry to hear of this. Something happened to make me come look at this blog, though I hadn't caught up for a couple of weeks with one thing and another, and I was sick at heart for you both to see what I feared had happened had in fact come to pass. He fought well and bravely, as did you both. Many prayers to you and yours.

I am just crushed by this news. I've cried many times over this sad news and can't even come close to how you two are feeling.
I just felt compelled to let you know that you had my everyday attention on the well being of your precious little boy and I just couldn't help not saying I'm sorry to you. Patience, one day at a time is what I pray for you to have. You have an incredible little angel to be with you forever and that is something in itself. Smile as often as you can. He's watching :)
